“A Monster might turn out to be the best friend you ever had.”

Howell Mountain
1,900ft above the valley floor on Howell Mountain sits the source of our Cabernet Sauvignon. Surrounded by monstrous redwoods and a world away from the hustle and bustle of Napa below. The Monster can grow quietly here before making it’s descent.
Our wines are crafted from Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon to showcase the purest expression of the souls of our Monsters.
The choice of name “Blue Monster” comes from our families beloved Cane Corso’s, an ancient Italian breed of Mastiff decended from the Molosser who joined the Roman Army as their loyal war dogs. Sarto was the first to join our family and was the driving force for me to craft a wine that showcased his soul. His giant formidable size and devilish appearance was only his second largest feature, for the soul within was a gentle giant and family protector. Ragnar joined our family and is now overseeing where Sarto left off, while he never had a chance to meet his brother, he is now the guardian of our family and carrying on the Blue Monster legacy.
The legacy of the Cane Corso traces its origins to the battlefields of ancient Rome, where its powerful ancestors served as loyal war dogs alongside the Roman legions. Over centuries, the breed transformed into a revered guardian of Italian estates—deeply devoted, fiercely protective, and unwavering in its loyalty to family and land. With time, the Cane Corso earned admiration not only across Italy but around the world, as a fiercely loyal working guardian. These photographs capture the modern Cane Corso through time and is a living testament to it’s long stand and noble heritage.
